My Nap Time List

I’m ashamed that I’m able to say I’m a smoker, but it’s true. And I absolutely hate that I am one. However, I’m proud to say that I’m quitting them for good!

And to celebrate this turning point in my life, I’ve written a list of all the things I can do during nap time instead of smoking while reading my latest book. (If you’re not a smoker, just dial back your opinions on what I could’ve already been doing during nap time.)

  • Do an exercise video (not just watch it)
  • Write a book/story/blog post (seriously, as in, one to actually publish)
  • Plan meals (like, a whole week or two of meals…recipes & all. Maybe throw in a picture to keep myself on track.)
  • Fold laundry (the never-ending piles of it)
  • Lie on the couch & read a book (what? I can still read, if I want)
  • Paint my nails
  • Organize my hoarder room (Don’t you judge me.)
  • Sort kiddo clothes (As in, cycle out stuff that’s too small, out of season, etc.)
  • Put together a kiddo craft
  • Dust stuff (Yuck.)
  • Clean out my email
  • Clean out the pantry (I know, for a fact, that there is stuff in there from 2008.)
  • Organize my kitchen
  • Sanitize toys (No, I don’t regularly do that. You do? Well, good for you.)
  • Pluck my eyebrows
  • Find new, free kindle books to download (To feed my habit, of course.)
  • Organize family pictures
  • Write shopping list
  • Walk a mile or two on the treadmill
  • Clean the dog’s kennel (She’s disgusting)
  • Give myself a facial
  • Clean out all the lotions, creams, etc.
  • Clean out toys
  • Set up a homeschooling station
  • Clean out movies & games
  • Find some new, easy, healthy recipes to try
  • Do something with all that jewelry-making stuff
  • Clean my desk
  • Review & update the household budget & family finances
  • Bake tasty, healthy treats
  • Play on Pinterest
  • Take a nap (My favorite idea.)

Well. That’s a lot of stuff to do. Some of it’s even productive. Giving myself a little pat on the back. Now, time to go wake up the girls.

What do you do during nap time? Is it a time to be productive or a time for catching up with yourself?

About Alyssa

I'm a home schooling mommy of two children. When I'm not cleaning, cooking, kissing owies, doing laundry, or rescuing pets from kiddie hands, I've been known to write, garden, play on my Kindle, peruse Pinterest, start (& sometime finish) DIY projects, edit pictures, play video games, and get crafty. Rumor is I'll be dragging my behind onto the treadmill. I love Thai food and historical romance novels. I'm wrapping up my PR degree & would love to get into editing eventually. Purple is the best color on earth, but it has a silly name.
